‘Amsterdam city view’ by Nenad Karpov (1937-2018).
Craftsmanship
Nenad Karpov was born in the city Karlovac (Croatia) in 1937. He studied from 1956 until 1963 at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism in Sarajevo. He worked several years as an architect, but his love for art led him to the United States of America and later The Netherlands and Belgium. He studied for four years at the University of California from 1970 until 1974 and moved to The Netherlands. He worked and lived from 1974 until 1988 in Amsterdam and made several artworks in that period. After his stay in Amsterdam he continued to make several more artworks in Belgium, where he died in Brasschaat (near Antwerp) in 2018 after a successful career. The subjects he mainly liked were cityscapes, landscapes and free compositions.
