Gouache
A gouache is a painting made with opaque watercolor where the background is no longer visible. The type of paint used is referred to as ‘gouache’ and was also called ‘poster paint’. Originally, gouache and poster paint were different techniques, but today they basically mean the same thing. Gouache is often only used on paper, it does not adhere well to other surfaces.
